The District: The Complete Series DvD Box Set
The District is impressed by the actual-life experiences of former New York Deputy Police Commissioner Jack Maple, revolves round Jack Mannion (Craig T. Nelson, Coach, The Household Stone), and his new crew. Appointed chief of police by the mayor, Mannion works carefully at Police Headquarters with Chief of Patrol Joe Noland (Roger Aaron Brown). In his quest to "make crime a factor of the previous," Mannion has recruited Temple Web page (Sean Patrick Thomas, Save the Last Dance), a younger detective on the pressure who is Mannion's eyes and ears on probably the most crime-ridden, drug-infested streets in America. Nancy Parras (Elizabeth Marvel), an intuitive officer, rounds out the chief's internal circle. Kevin Debreno (Jonathan LaPaglia, Windfall), the most recent member of Mannion's unit after Danny McGregor was murdered, continues to challenge himself and his partner, Temple, at every flip. Together, Mannion and his crew type a modern-day "Untouchables," decided to make the District livable for all its citizens. Amazingly, regardless of Washington D.C. being approximately 70% Afro-American, the criminals have been practically always Russian mobsters who appeared to infest town.
The District has dealt with loads of deaths during it's run together with creator Jack Maple and solid member Lynne Thigpen, who played Ella Mae Farmer within the first three seasons.
Despite good rankings, after the 2003-2004 season CBS determined to deal away with their Saturday tv lineup, thus cancelling The District and fellow Saturday night time show, Hack.
